#Muktidatakiawaj #Matridhamashram #Aatmdarshan The first reading is taken from the book of Genesis 49: 29-33, 5o : 15-26. The Gospel reading is taken from the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew 10: 24-33. In today's Gospel passage, Jesus repeats thrice the phrase, Do not be afraid. Aware of the fierce and deadly persecution his disciples will have to suffer, Jesus warned them that he himself would be subjected to worse kind of persecution. But, blessed as they are with immoral souls, no one could destroy them even though they might kill the physical body. The disciples, thus, needed to face persecution not with fear but courage and hope. They needed to stand firm and declare Christ despite trials. Second, our Heavenly Father is mindful of every situation or movement, however small and insignificant it might be. He will not abandon His loved ones. We need not lose faith and hope when opposing powers strike at us. God is in control and will continue to be in control till the end. God's Word is ever present, powerful and dynamic. As Saint John says : "In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (Jn 1:1).God sends out His Word with a definite purpose, "...my Word that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose..." (Isa 55 :10-11). Down through the centuries, the faithful have been experiencing the salvific acts of God through His Word, namely, God's unconditional love and mercy, message of consolation and hope, healing, forgiveness, etc. When the Church was going through rough times and frequent persecutions, it was the Word of God and the Eucharist that gave the faithful courage and hope to remain faithful to their faith. Hence, let us discover God in our life and live and exemplary Christian life by reading and listening to the Word of God. For the Church teaches, "The Word of God is our strength for our faith, food for our soul and pure and lasting font of spiritual lie" (Vat II.DV21) Bless the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, bless his holy name ! Bless the Lord, my soul, and do not forget all his kindness. He forgives all my sins, and heals all my sickness; he redeems my life from destruction, and crowns me with love and compassion; he gives fulfilment to my year, and renews my youth like the eagle's. (Psalm 103) "Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword" (Heb 4 :12). God's Word is ever fresh and life-giving; it transforms the lives of the faithful. Even after thousands of years, it is very much active and alive in the Church, in the life of the people, especially in their trying situations. Moreover, it nourishes, inspires and strengthens the faithful to live and build their Christian life on a strong and sure foundation. God's Word is a bright shining light that leads those living in the darkness of sin and slavery of the evil powers back to God and godly values. John the evangelist tells us that in Jesus we have received the gift of grace and truth that has replaced the gift of the Law that was handed to Moses. The Law was a gift, as it became a compass for upright living. Those who kept the law were seen to be righteous. With the coming of Jesus, we are told to go beyond the letter of the law and understand the spirt of the law. It does not mean that now we don't follow the law, but that, in the light of revelation, we are clear that even before Moses was given the commandments, Jesus already preceded the law, because He is the Word of God who was with God and is God, from the beginning. Hence, we are invited to accept Jesus as the light that dispels the darkness and , like John the Baptist, proclaim, witness to, and live by Christ's law of love. O Sing to the Lord; bless his name. Proclaim his salvation day by day. Dear readers, the purpose my video is to reach out the Word of God through out the world. May God bless you all. Please, Subscribe my channel and share it. Thanking in anticipation. Fr. Avinash Minj Catholic Diocese of Hazaribag, Jharkhand, India.
