Bible Topics for preaching
Here are some potential Bible topics that could be good for preaching:
God's love - Talk about how deep and wide God's love is for humanity, as exemplified through Jesus's sacrifice and teachings. Verses like John 3:16 or 1 Corinthians 13 are good to reference.
Sin and redemption - Discuss the universal human struggle with sin and how the Bible offers redemption and forgiveness through Jesus. Romans 3-7 has lots of good content on this.
Spiritual disciplines - Preach on topics like prayer, Bible study, fasting, simplicity, worship, etc. and how developing these disciplines draws us closer to God.
Jesus's parables - Choose one of Jesus's parables like the Prodigal Son or the Good Samaritan and offer insights into what it means for how we should live.
Fruit of the Spirit - Talk about what qualities like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control look like in real life and how we can cultivate them.
Heroes of the faith - Hebrews 11 and other passages point to heroes like Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Rahab, David and more. What can their stories teach us?
End times heaven - Passages on eschatology like parts of Daniel, Ezekiel, Revelation and more can be examined to ponder the ultimate fate of the world and hope for eternity.
I tried to offer just a sampling across a variety of common biblical themes, but let me know if you'd like suggestions on anything more specific! There is so much richness to explore in Scripture for life application through preaching.
