1. John
 The book of Revelation was written by John the Apostle. He lived around the time of Jesus and he was exiled to Patmos, where he would write his prophetic visions. His name means "God's Mercy."
 2. Daniel
 Daniel was a Jewish prophet who lived in Babylon during the reign of King Nebuchadnezzar II. He prophesied the downfall of Babylon and the rise of God’s kingdom on earth. His name means “Beloved of Yahweh.”
 3. Peter
 Peter was born in Bethsaida of Galilee. He later became a disciple of Jesus Christ. When he witnessed the miracle of the loaves and fishes, he denied knowing Jesus even though he had earlier called him lord. Peter changed his mind after Jesus appeared to him on the rooftop and told him not to call down any angel before the appointed times. Later, Peter accepted Jesus as the Messiah. His name comes from the Hebrew word paar, meaning “rock.”
 4. Paul
 Paul was born in Tarsus in Cilicia. He traveled throughout Asia Minor and Greece and eventually came to Rome. In Rome, he met Christians persecuted for their faith. He then went back to Jerusalem to help them. At the age of 35, he began traveling through Europe and stopped at Philippi (in Macedonia). There he converted many people to Christianity. He was arrested and brought to Rome, where he died. His name means ‘follower of the Lord.’
 5. Luke
 Luke was a physician and writer whose mother was named Mary. He was a companion of Paul and a friend of Barnabas. He was also a cousin of Joseph, Mary’s husband. Luke was the author of the gospel according to Luke. He was a doctor who cared for the sick.
 6. Mark
 Mark was a Roman soldier who traveled with Paul. He was known as the author of the Gospel According to Mark. He was probably born in Syria and he may have been a Gentile.
 7. Matthew
 Matthew was one of the twelve apostles. He was likely born in Galilee. He wrote the Gospel According to Matthew. He was known as “the tax collector” because he collected taxes for Caesar.
